About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Consultant to join our team at New Story School. As a Behavioral Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of individualized behavior plans, monitoring progress, and delivering behavior consultation as indicated in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention: Assess initial and ongoing behavioral strengths and needs of students per school assessment protocols and timelines.
  • Behavioral Support: Utilize nonviolent crisis intervention techniques as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Attend and participate in IBP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other meetings, as needed.
  • Service Delivery: Provide and monitor services as stated in the student's IEP.
  • Goal Development: Develop behavior goals for the IBP and Positive Behavior Support Plan under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst.
  • Plan Implementation: Oversee the implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments as needed, under the supervision of a BCBA.
  • System Development: Develop system of data collection for staff to support interventions and change, under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst.
  • Individualized Plans: Develop and teach individualized behavior plans which reflect the individual needs of the student and the dynamics of the school setting.
  • Progress Monitoring: Collect and graph behavior data recorded by school staff for analysis in behavior plan effectiveness.
  • Collaboration and Feedback: Collaborate with all staff members to assess effectiveness of Positive Behavior Support Plan and student progress/concerns.
  • Plan Revision: Revise student behavior plans as directed.
  • Training and Development: Conduct staff training, as requested.
  • Employee Support: Participate in the employee disciplinary process.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor employee performance and conduct employee performance evaluations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete miscellaneous paperwork/reports as directed.
  • Travel and Safety: Travel to various school locations, as necessary.
  • Classroom Environment: Assist with maintaining clean and safe classroom environment.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with company policy and FERPA regulations.
  • Company Policies: Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Training and Development: Attend and successfully complete all trainings and supervision sessions as directed.
  • Documentation and Timekeeping: Complete and submit documentation of time worked accurately and in a timely manner.
