Senior Engineering Lead

The Engineering Lead is pivotal in enhancing the operational efficiency of the Engineering department while collaborating with various functions to ensure effective management of metrics, dashboards, and cross-functional initiatives. This role is responsible for planning and executing departmental operations or focusing on professional activities within a specific technical area. The position operates with a degree of independence, guided by established policies and the review of outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Oversee process and metrics tracking, which may involve both degreed and non-degreed personnel. Responsible for headcount management and the collection of critical data for informed decision-making.
- Directly manage personnel, including staffing and performance development, leveraging extensive knowledge in a technical field along with analytical skills to implement policies and strategies.
- Possess awareness of industry best practices and understand how the role integrates with other areas; stay informed about competitors and their differentiating factors in the market.
- Utilize judgment and creativity to propose alternative solutions beyond established parameters to tackle complex manufacturing processes with technical diversity and interdependent production cycles. Employ technical expertise and analytical reasoning, drawing from multiple internal and limited external sources to make decisions.
- Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues, potentially leading small-scale projects with minimal risks and resource needs. Communicate information effectively, developing skills to guide team members toward consensus on relevant topics. Set performance expectations and manage sensitive matters.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Capability to document, plan, market, and implement programs effectively.
- Established skills in project management.
Compensation Level
LPB1
This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will depend on the ability to obtain authorization for access to such information from the U.S. Government, if applicable.
