Position Responsibilities:
- Engage with regulatory bodies and possess in-depth knowledge of permitting processes.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoTurn, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Contribute to both conceptual and detailed engineering designs.
- Lead civil engineering teams during project meetings.
- Collaborate on large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Design underground utility systems.
- Excel in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.
- Demonstrate reliability in commitments and deliverables.
- Conduct fieldwork and oversee construction activities.
- Manage project budgets and timelines.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineering staff.
- Participate in project scoping and cost estimation.
- Perform material take-offs and construction cost assessments.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work effectively as part of a team on various projects.
- Willingness to travel lightly within the state.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in heavy industrial settings.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia; additional state licenses are advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of site plan development, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control.
- Note: Remote work is available for this position.
