The Water Resources Project Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting civil and environmental engineering initiatives, focusing on the assessment, rehabilitation, and design of wastewater collection systems, as well as the design of water distribution networks.

Location: Austin, TX

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; 10 years preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas.
  • At least three years of experience with municipal water projects.
  • This role involves local travel for site inspections and meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Exceptional organizational and design planning abilities.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Proficient in standard business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Adobe, etc.).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of technical reports.
  • Design and analysis of pipeline routing alternatives.
  • Conducting field investigations and site assessments.
  • Managing project permitting processes and liaising with regulatory agencies.
  • Data collection and analysis.
  • Utility coordination efforts.
  • Development of erosion and sedimentation control plans.
  • Cost estimation and engineering analysis.
  • Hydraulic analysis and wastewater flow development.
  • Performing engineering design calculations.
  • Reviewing engineering specifications and preparing construction contract documents.
  • Providing bid and award services.
  • Offering engineering support during the construction phase.
  • Creating project scopes and budget estimates.
  • Collaborating with surveying, geotechnical, structural, and electrical engineering subconsultants.
  • Coordinating with internal quality assurance and control reviewers, financial analysts, and administrative staff.
