We are seeking a seasoned Lead Water Resources Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting our Southwest Region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering and evaluating data for inclusion in project documentation and reports.
  • Utilizing engineering software to design systems for stormwater management and drainage, as well as erosion and sediment control.
  • Conducting analyses and developing hydrologic and hydraulic models for transportation enhancement initiatives.
  • Coordinating with various regulatory and water management agencies for permitting processes.
  • Assisting in the creation of project plans using advanced CADD software, including but not limited to MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, and AutoCAD.
  • Contributing to the development and/or modification of complex engineering reports and calculations across a diverse range of projects.
  • Preparing project construction details, quantities, cost estimates, and specifications.
  • Reviewing project estimates, details, and verifying calculations and drawings for adherence to project standards.
  • Assisting in the formulation of project timelines.
  • Collaborating with various disciplines, subconsultants, and professionals to ensure successful project delivery within budget and timelines.
  • Overseeing design activities, supervising production efforts, and mentoring junior staff and designers.
  • Performing additional professional, management, marketing, and networking tasks as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's in water resources is advantageous).
  • Preferred valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) or the ability to obtain it within six months.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in drainage/water resources and TxDOT projects.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, Storm CAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS, and/or SUDA software.
  • Prior experience with TxDOT drainage design and a strong understanding of TxDOT standards and procedures.
