Job Title: Chief Development Officer

LA Family Housing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Development Officer to lead our development and community engagement efforts. As a key member of our Executive Management Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fund development strategies, managing our Development and Community Engagement department, and building strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute fund development strategies to increase revenues and support our $100 million annual operating budget.
  • Manage and lead the Development and Community Engagement department, building a high-performing team and ensuring effective communication and collaboration with other departments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community stakeholders to secure funding and support for our programs and services.
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to promote LA Family Housing's mission and impact, and to engage donors and volunteers in our work.
  • Manage and oversee special events, including our high-profile LAFH Awards celebration, to raise funds and awareness for our organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated high-level leadership success in fund development and community engagement.
  • Executive Team management experience is required, with a clearly articulated management philosophy that supports high performance and employee retention.
  • Experience in all areas of fundraising, including major gifts, annual giving, grants, and events, as well as an understanding of volunteer-supported organizations and databases that support fundraising.
  • Nonprofit experience is required, with knowledge of the social service sector of Los Angeles a priority.
