Job Description:
The Automation Engineer II at Southwire Company LLC will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of engineered control systems for various projects aimed at enhancing plant operations. This role also involves providing technical support to plant technicians and engineers in diagnosing electrical issues and implementing solutions to ensure the smooth functioning of Connected Enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Emphasize Safety in the Workplace: Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to company policies and procedures, and promoting a culture of safety among team members.
- Design and Implement Control Systems: Develop and implement engineered control systems for various projects, including budgeting, design, installation, and spare parts procurement.
- Enhance Manufacturing Processes: Optimize manufacturing processes by enhancing PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications.
- Troubleshoot Electrical Issues: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in the Connected Enterprise platform.
- Research and Implement New Methods: Identify and implement new manufacturing methods and equipment to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Design and Maintain Instrumentation: Design and maintain instrumentation and control systems to ensure accurate and reliable data.
- Improve Information Resources: Enhance information resources supporting Connected Enterprise to improve decision-making and productivity.
- Assist in Commissioning and Training: Assist in setting up and commissioning control systems and training team members.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Experience: Over 5 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Skills: Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell PLC Programming. Preferred expertise in AutoCAD.
