Position Summary

The Continuous Improvement Engineer II plays a pivotal role in spearheading cross-functional initiatives aimed at analyzing and optimizing operational sequences and workflows to enhance efficiency. This position will oversee multiple projects, employing continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean principles. The engineer will utilize Quality and Lean tools to address challenges (DMAIC) and foster new capabilities, acting as a change agent to motivate organizational leaders towards ongoing enhancements and the removal of barriers to improvement processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead various projects, implementing continuous improvement techniques through Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to resolve issues (DMAIC) and develop new capabilities.
  • Support the Lean Manager and conduct studies related to cost management, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events to enhance skills in driving continuous improvements across operational and administrative areas, ensuring effective preparation and follow-up.
  • Develop and execute control plans, enhance processes, modify equipment, and revise operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with other Value Streams to identify cross-functional improvement opportunities and promote high-quality, efficient processes.
  • Train and empower problem-solving teams and supporting groups to streamline operations.
  • Share best practices with other Senior/Lean Engineers and formulate coordinated improvement plans.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Certifications: Green Belt certification required; Lean or Six Sigma (Southwire Lean certification for internal candidates)
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of successful leadership in executing continuous improvement/Lean/Six Sigma initiatives with measurable efficiency and financial benefits.
  • Travel: Domestic travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Experience: 5+ years of successful leadership in continuous improvement/Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Certifications: Black Belt Certification / Lean or Six Sigma.
