The Role
The Process Engineer II will play a crucial role in supporting diverse aspects of production, quality assurance, and engineering. Key responsibilities encompass production assistance, troubleshooting processes, spearheading process enhancement initiatives, and overseeing capital projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide essential support for troubleshooting, project development, process enhancements, and any engineering-related challenges.
- Oversee site capital expenditure projects from inception to completion, including defining project scope, estimating costs, conducting economic evaluations, securing project approvals, coordinating implementation, managing budgets, and finalizing projects.
- Submit Management of Change (MOC) requests as necessary and assist in evaluating or approving MOC submissions.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams to facilitate the introduction of new or modified products into production.
- Investigate safety and quality incidents, as well as customer complaints, to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and establish verification processes.
- Engage in Environmental, Safety, and Health initiatives and comply with quality department requirements.
- Provide technical assistance to production teams for daily manufacturing challenges.
- Participate in customer task forces as required.
- Research, design, and evaluate methods for process improvements for both existing and new products.
- Work alongside Quality Control and production teams to manage rework and aged materials.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance teams to execute preventive maintenance, repair projects, and improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience in the chemical industry.
- Other engineering or technical disciplines may be considered if the candidate possesses relevant experience in chemical manufacturing or process development.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience in an ISO 9001 environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with capital projects is preferred.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Office, and SAP.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact across various organizational levels.
- Self-motivated and adaptable individual with excellent organizational abilities.
- This position is safety-sensitive and requires candidates to successfully complete a post-offer drug screening prior to employment.
