Your Role: As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of space exploration. Your expertise will directly influence the development of the Lunar Lander assembly processes. You will:

  • Translate engineering designs into operational hardware ready for testing and flight.
  • Create and manage build and flow documentation.
  • Identify and assess tooling requirements for production.
  • Develop manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Draft and approve work instructions.
  • Conduct engineering drawing reviews and ensure readiness for manufacturing.
  • Provide direct support on the production floor, collaborating with flight hardware.
  • Engage in anomaly investigations and contribute to corrective action plans.
  • Oversee the generation and management of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience in aircraft, spacecraft, or automotive manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in manufacturing engineering, particularly in Vehicle Integration, Structures, or similar fields.
  • Strong mentoring abilities for less experienced engineers.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles related to mechanical design and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as CAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in developing processes compliant with industry quality standards.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships across diverse teams.
  • Willingness to support various work shifts as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to:

  • Engage in production floor activities.
  • Work in confined spaces and climb stairs.
  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, the following are advantageous:

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in New Product Development.
  • Ability to write clear and concise work instructions.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
