Your Role: As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of space exploration. Your expertise will directly influence the development of the Lunar Lander assembly processes. You will:
- Translate engineering designs into operational hardware ready for testing and flight.
- Create and manage build and flow documentation.
- Identify and assess tooling requirements for production.
- Develop manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Draft and approve work instructions.
- Conduct engineering drawing reviews and ensure readiness for manufacturing.
- Provide direct support on the production floor, collaborating with flight hardware.
- Engage in anomaly investigations and contribute to corrective action plans.
- Oversee the generation and management of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience in aircraft, spacecraft, or automotive manufacturing.
- Proven track record in manufacturing engineering, particularly in Vehicle Integration, Structures, or similar fields.
- Strong mentoring abilities for less experienced engineers.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles related to mechanical design and manufacturing.
- Proficiency in software tools such as CAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in developing processes compliant with industry quality standards.
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships across diverse teams.
- Willingness to support various work shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to:
- Engage in production floor activities.
- Work in confined spaces and climb stairs.
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not mandatory, the following are advantageous:
- A Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Extensive experience in New Product Development.
- Ability to write clear and concise work instructions.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
