This Part-Time Manufacturing Engineering Aide position is an exciting opportunity to join the Lockheed Martin team and contribute to the success of our Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) division. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to our Manufacturing Engineers, ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to gather, maintain, and format technical data, including engineering designs and design changes.
- Produce high-quality engineering documentation, reports, and designs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Act as a liaison between the Manufacturing Engineering and production teams, providing technical guidance and support to ensure assembly performance.
- Review and respond to Engineering Order Discrepancies (EODIs) and requests for floor support, working closely with the assembly team to identify and correct issues.
- Update assembly work instructions based on drawings and models, reviewing content with Manufacturing Engineers prior to release to the floor.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers with tasks on Qnotes and EODIs, inputting data provided by ME to tools in support of planning, routing, work instruction generation, status reporting, and issue resolution.
- Participate in Operations Excellence Team (OET) activities and assist in implementing lean principles and technologies to drive continuous growth and improvement.
- Maintain and control shop aids used in the production process, programming and maintaining assembly-related machines as required.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional technical training sufficient to perform required basic calculations, electronic/mechanical assembly/test, computer operations, etc.
- Ability to read and understand engineering design drawings and interpret design specifications and their applicability to manufacturing.
- Experience working with Schleuniger machines.
- Desired skills: experience troubleshooting cable and harnesses processing machines.
