**Job Summary**

Developmental Disabilities Institute is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Transporter to operate DDI vehicles in compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will transport developmentally disabled individuals throughout Suffolk and Nassau County, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Transport developmentally disabled individuals to various destinations in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate vehicles in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Report any vehicle defects or issues to the maintenance department.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including route sheets, vehicle logs, and incident reports.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals transported.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle at all times.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the management team.
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.

**Qualifications:**

  • NYS Driver's License without restrictions for driving performance.
  • At least 18 months of experience as a licensed driver.
  • No DWI or DUI convictions within the last 3 years.
  • 6 or fewer accumulated points on driving record.
  • 3 or fewer accidents and moving violations within the previous 12-month period.
  • CPR, SCIP, and First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow safety guidelines.

**Working Conditions:**

The Transporter will work in a fast-paced environment, transporting developmentally disabled individuals to various destinations. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.
