Qualifications:
Candidate must possess a minimum of 18 credits in psychology or a related field, along with at least 1 year of experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism or other developmental disabilities, OR hold a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Proficiency in Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support is essential.

It is required to maintain active TA or other relevant certifications.

SCIP Certification must be obtained within 3 months of employment.

Completion of Teaching Strategies and ABA training is mandatory within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities:


Assist classroom personnel with behavior-related tasks and activities for students as necessary, ensuring the implementation of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Behavior Support Plan.

Provide behavior support and crisis intervention for assigned students on a daily basis.

Evaluate student data to ensure alignment with the Behavior Support Plan.

Support classroom staff in executing the Behavior Support Plan and collaborate with behavior specialists and support personnel on behavior programs.


Familiarity with a diverse range of students in the program is necessary to facilitate teamwork and provide coverage for Behavior Support Staff and Assistants.


Evaluate the behaviors of students facing behavioral challenges and assist classroom staff in effective behavior management strategies.


Support classroom staff in utilizing necessary tools and equipment (e.g., token economies, reinforcers, contracts, protective gear) for behavior support.

Engage in team meetings and specialized training sessions relevant to PBIS and behavior management.

Collaborate with behavior specialists and other team members regarding behavioral concerns in both school and community settings.


Prepare necessary documentation and assessments as requested by Clinical Coordinators, Behavior Specialists, or Licensed Psychologists (e.g., behavior data, student observations).

Actively participate in bus duty and lunch supervision.

Assist with overall program operations as needed (e.g., safety protocols, student intake screenings, bus duty oversight, lunch supervision, toileting assistance, etc.).

Behavioral Support Technicians are required to document supervision hours in accordance with BACB standards and adhere to BACB Ethical Guidelines.

Essential Physical Demands:
Ability to modify the environment to ensure the safety of children, including moving or pushing objects weighing up to 20 lbs.

Capability to lift or move 20 lbs. (e.g., mats).

Ability to run after students for distances up to 500 feet.

Ability to respond quickly to classroom needs within a distance of up to 500 feet.

Must be able to kneel, twist, and bend as required.

Must be able to respond to fire alarms.
