Communication Specialist in Speech Pathology

With over five decades of dedicated service, DDI has positively impacted the lives of more than 1,500 individuals, offering a wide range of innovative and comprehensive services across various educational, residential, and vocational settings.
Compensation:
$77,401.92 annually
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct evaluations, assessments, and screenings of clients utilizing standardized testing and clinical observational techniques.
2. Deliver speech and language therapy in accordance with OPWDD standards.
3. Ensure all necessary documentation for services is completed as specified by the program and/or supervisor.
4. Maintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable, and confidential manner.
5. Participate in scheduled meetings and collaborate effectively with other professionals, staff, and families.
6. Enhance professional knowledge and skills through continuing education, in-service training, or advanced education.
7. Provide training to staff on communication programs.
8. Supervise the implementation of communication programs in both day and residential environments.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
Licenses & Certifications:
New York State Education Department (NYSED) licensure in Speech-Language Pathology required.
ASHA certification and TSHH certification preferred.
Experience:
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
