POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Resource Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by providing mentorship, guidance, and support to newly graduated nurses and those transitioning to our healthcare system. This position involves supporting various clinical units, ensuring adherence to nursing standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

– Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

· Conducts rounds on nursing units to assess patient acuity and determine intervention needs.

· Identifies educational needs for nursing staff.

· Acts as a resource for novice nurses, addressing concerns regarding nursing skills and patient care processes.

· Serves as a professional role model, demonstrating clinical leadership and decision-making abilities.

· Provides patient care, coordinates care delivery, and utilizes the nursing process effectively.

· Functions as a subject matter expert, developing educational materials for nursing units as necessary.

· Engages in patient education to promote health and safety.

· Enhances nurse satisfaction and engagement by mentoring staff in effective communication and teamwork.

· Assists in patient care and may directly educate patients and their families.

· Acts as a clinical resource for complex patient care situations, providing guidance to healthcare professionals.

· Participates in rapid responses and codes, offering feedback and facilitating education and coaching.

· Identifies opportunities for practice improvement and leads initiatives.

· Upholds ethical standards in practice.

· Maintains knowledge and skills that reflect current nursing practices.

· Integrates evidence-based research into nursing practice.

· Contributes to quality nursing practices and shared decision-making by supporting council decisions.

· Communicates effectively across all areas of practice.

· Demonstrates leadership within the professional practice environment.

· Utilizes appropriate resources to deliver safe, effective, and financially responsible nursing services.

· Practices in a manner that promotes environmental safety and health.

· Engages in shared decision-making processes within the NCH Healthcare System.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida.

· A minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care or as a nurse educator is required.

· A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required from an accredited organization.

· A passion for teaching and confidence in nursing knowledge and skills is essential.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
