Job Summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Materials Management Administrative Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the materials management department with ordering and receiving supplies and implants for surgical cases in the Perioperative Area of Stony Brook Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ordering and receiving supplies and implants for surgical cases
  • Handling AP, purchasing, and vendor issues
  • Updating inventory sheets based on usage
  • Monitoring and facilitating change order notices
  • Obtaining product information and pricing from companies
  • Requesting new Lawson numbers
  • Checking in orders against the book of open requisitions
  • Communicating with receiving when orders are received incorrectly
  • Assisting with accounts payable issues
  • Maintaining backorder logs

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and at least 2 years of healthcare setting experience
  • Ability to multitask in a high-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, especially via telephone

Preferred Qualifications

  • Materials management area experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Lawson, Cerner, and/or Surginet

The selected candidate must meet the following requirements prior to start date: successfully complete pre-employment physical examination, complete electronic reference check, successfully complete 4-panel drug screen, meet regulatory requirements for pre-employment screenings, and provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
