Job Summary:

The Town of Castle Rock is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lifeguard - Pool Safety Specialist. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of pool patrons, enforcing pool rules and regulations, and performing emergency first aid and life-saving techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of pool patrons by observing pool users, enforcing pool rules and regulations, and performing emergency first aid and life-saving techniques.
  • Assist with pool maintenance and cleaning to maintain a clean and safe environment for pool users.
  • Assist with inspection of the pool and facility at opening and closing to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of the pool.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Preferred candidates will have knowledge in life-saving procedures, public relations, pool maintenance, and cleaning duties.
  • Must hold the following certifications: Starguard Elite Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/Professional Rescuer, AED, and Administering Emergency Oxygen, EpiPen, and Rescue Inhaler.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional physical work lifting no more than 10 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, walking, and standing.
  • Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipment.
  • Vision for reading, recording, and interpreting information.
  • Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens.

Work Environment:

  • Extended periods of time in the pool and pool area with exposure to temperature extremes, varying weather conditions, chemicals, water, and other conditions found in the pool area.

Equipment Used:

  • This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g., vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment.
