Head Lifeguard

The Town of Castle Rock is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Lifeguard to join our team. As a key member of our pool operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our pool patrons.

• Pool Supervision: Provide oversight and direction to lifeguards, ensuring they are equipped to handle emergency situations and provide exceptional customer service.
• Maintenance and Cleaning: Ensure the pool area is clean and well-maintained, performing maintenance activities and assigning tasks to lifeguards as needed.
• Training and Development: Provide on-the-job training to new lifeguards, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties safely and effectively.
• Administrative Tasks: Complete all paperwork related to the position, including incident reports and safety protocols.
• Pool Chemical Management: Check pool chemical levels and ensure they are within safe parameters.
• Emergency Response: Perform emergency first aid and life-saving techniques as needed, ensuring the safety of pool patrons.

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience: Six (6) months prior experience as a lifeguard preferred.
• Certifications: Must hold the following American Red Cross certifications: Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor, First Aid, CPR/Professional Rescuer, AED, and Administering Emergency Oxygen.
• Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of and ability to physically perform various rescue techniques and life-saving procedures, ability to effectively convey information to pool patrons, knowledge of and skill in using chemical supplies to treat swimming pools, and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

• Extended periods of time in the pool and pool area with exposure to temperature extremes, varying weather conditions, chemicals, water, and other conditions found in the pool area.
