Job Summary

As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of pool patrons, enforcing pool rules and regulations, and performing emergency first aid and life-saving techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pool Safety and Emergency Response: Ensure the safety of pool patrons by observing pool users, enforcing pool rules and regulations, and performing emergency first aid and life-saving techniques.
  • Pool Maintenance and Cleaning: Assist with pool maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure the pool area is clean and safe for patrons.
  • Facility Inspection: Assist with the inspection of the pool and facility at opening and closing to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of the pool.
Requirements
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Experience: Preferred candidates will have knowledge in life-saving procedures, public relations, pool maintenance, and cleaning duties.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must hold the following certifications: Starguard Elite Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/Professional Rescuer, AED, and Administering Emergency Oxygen, EpiPen, and Rescue Inhaler.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to physically perform various rescue techniques and life-saving procedures, ability to effectively convey information to pool patrons, knowledge of and skill in using chemical supplies to treat swimming pools, and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
Physical Demands
  • Occasional Physical Work: Occasional physical work lifting no more than 10 pounds.
  • Occasional Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting, carrying, walking, and standing.
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Frequent hand-eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipment.
  • Vision and Speech: Vision for reading, recording, and interpreting information, and speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens.
Work Environment
  • Pool Environment: Extended periods of time in the pool and pool area with exposure to temperature extremes, varying weather conditions, chemicals, water, and other conditions found in the pool area.
Equipment Used
  • Personal Equipment: This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g., vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment.
