About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Hygiene Specialist to join our team at Midtown Health Center. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Patient Care: Administer oral hygiene services, including dental prophylaxis, periodontal therapy, and maintenance, while adhering to current regulations and protocols.
  • Prepare Treatment Rooms: Ensure treatment rooms, dental instruments, equipment, and materials are properly prepared and maintained to provide a safe and efficient patient care environment.
  • Document Patient Records: Accurately maintain patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information.
  • Provide Patient Education: Educate patients on oral health care, post-operative instructions, and other relevant information to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain Clinic Flow: Ensure efficient room turn-around, sterilization, stocking, and cleaning to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Assist Colleagues: Provide support and assistance to other dental team members as needed, including clinical, administrative, and clerical duties.
  • Perform Administrative Tasks: Assist with patient records, appointments, and fees, as well as other administrative tasks as required.
  • Contribute to a Safe Environment: Maintain a safe, secure, and aseptic environment for patients and employees, adhering to all relevant regulations and protocols.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene from an accredited school, with experience in digital x-rays and electronic dental records preferred.
  • Licensure and Certification: Valid driver's license and ability to utilize own transportation for work purposes.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching, and ability to reach by extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Working Conditions: Ability to work varied and extended hour scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, in a smoke-free and drug-free work environment.
