Veterinary Emergency Care Specialist

Position Overview:
As a Veterinary Emergency Care Specialist, you will be part of a full-time swing shift team, working Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm to 2:30am, and Friday and Saturday from 6pm to 4:30am.
In our Emergency department, every day is dynamic and engaging. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and can adeptly manage the challenges of critical situations, this role is ideal for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct organized rounds, documenting cases and gathering necessary information.
- Assess incoming patients and prioritize care based on evaluations.
- Collaborate with the patient care team on treatment plans and client communication.
- Educate clients on home care, medications, and wellness updates for hospitalized patients.
- Assist veterinarians with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures.
- Monitor and provide nursing care for hospitalized patients.
- Induce and oversee general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
- Perform in-house laboratory tests and prepare samples for external testing.
- Preferred: State Registered Veterinary Technician license.
- Required: Prior veterinary experience; emergency experience is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in calculations related to medications and treatments.
- Flexibility in work hours and willingness to work additional hours as needed.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $28.25 to $41.00, commensurate with experience and skillset.
