Our facility encompasses a wide array of services, including critical care, emergency interventions, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, physical rehabilitation, surgical procedures, and urgent care.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a committed Veterinary Technician to enhance our Neurology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Master the intricacies of neurological anatomy and function.
- Conduct high-quality anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance during surgical and imaging procedures.
- Accurately calculate medication and fluid dosages for hospitalized patients.
- Assist in surgical operations and advanced imaging techniques.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placements, urinary catheter placements, and more.
- Conduct and recognize normal physical examination parameters for canine and feline patients.
- Observe and document changes in patient behavior, attitude, and condition.
- Gather patient histories and assist during neurologic evaluations.
- Collaborate with the Neurologist to enhance patient care.
- Engage in client education and utilize practice management software for maintaining patient and client records.
- Contribute to the rehabilitation of paralyzed patients.
- Execute or set up procedures that do not necessitate veterinarian assistance.
Compensation Range: $40.00/hr plus shift differentials and a $3000 hiring bonus for new full-time employees.
Our compensation ranges are primarily influenced by role, level, and location, reflecting the minimum and maximum target for the position.
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time
- 4/10 Schedule - Mon-Wed and an additional day each week.
- 1-2 Saturdays per month required.
- CA RVT certification.
- 3+ years experience in a specialty veterinary setting.
- Preferred experience in neurology and anesthesia.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with staff and clients with professionalism and discretion.
- Reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug dosages, CRIs, client invoices, and estimates.
