Our facility is equipped to provide a wide array of services, including critical care, emergency interventions, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, physical rehabilitation, surgical procedures, and urgent care.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a committed Veterinary Technician to enhance our Neurology department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Master the intricacies of neurological anatomy and functionality.
- Execute high-quality anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance during surgical and imaging procedures.
- Accurately calculate medication and fluid dosages for hospitalized patients.
- Assist in surgical operations and advanced imaging techniques.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placements, urinary catheter placements, and more.
- Conduct and identify normal physical examination parameters for canine and feline patients.
- Observe and document alterations in patient behavior, attitude, and condition.
- Gather patient histories and assist during neurologic evaluations.
- Collaborate with the Neurologist to enhance patient care.
- Engage in client education and utilize practice management software for record-keeping.
- Contribute to the rehabilitation of paralyzed patients.
- Implement or prepare procedures that do not necessitate veterinarian involvement.
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time commitment.
- 4/10 Schedule - Monday to Wednesday, plus an additional day each week.
- 1-2 Saturdays per month are required.
- Current CA RVT certification.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a specialty veterinary setting.
- Preference for candidates with neurology and anesthesia experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff and clients, demonstrating tact, patience, and professionalism.
- Reliable mathematical skills for drug dosages, CRIs, client invoices, and other calculations.
