We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a critical care specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians during treatments and procedures, ensuring the highest level of care and comfort for our patients.
- Monitor critically ill or injured patients closely, providing timely and effective interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure around-the-clock care and treatment coordination, ensuring seamless communication and patient care.
- Offer compassionate care and support to patients and their owners, providing emotional support and education throughout the treatment process.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as bloodwork and imaging, providing critical information for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
- Monitor and maintain medical equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and patient safety.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding patient updates and treatment plans, providing clear and concise information and education.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and provide emergency care as needed, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of clinical experience in an ER/CCU setting required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, owners, and veterinary team members.
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations.
- Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license).
