Position Overview:
The Trading Product Specialist operates as a technical account manager for FactSet's Execution Management System (EMS), Portware. This role is pivotal in ensuring client satisfaction and retention through collaborative relationships and advocacy for client objectives.

Work Environment:

Hybrid setup, with responsibilities shared between New York, NY and Norwalk, CT.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the pre-sales phase to evaluate client requirements prior to implementation.
  • Develop tailored strategies and objectives for each client account.
  • Participate in the requirements gathering process at the beginning of implementation projects and during daily operations to ensure resource allocation aligns with client needs.
  • Advocate for clients' current and future needs through effective partnerships.
  • Serve as an internal client champion to enhance visibility of client requirements.
  • Align activities with clients' business priorities.
  • Identify business opportunities that align with Portware's objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Support, Development, Sales, and Pre-Sales Engineering to facilitate efficient and cost-effective client implementations.
  • Partner with Support to resolve any client issues.
  • Inspire higher standards and results in others through exemplary performance.

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in front office roles within financial markets, with a solid understanding of market structures across various asset classes.
  • Proven project management skills, capable of delivering multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Experience as a technical business analyst, adept at translating business needs into functional specifications.
  • Proficient in SQL, with the ability to construct complex queries.
  • Experience collaborating directly with software engineers and Technical Architects on business requirements.
  • Familiarity with securities trading, particularly in FX or Fixed Income, with knowledge of other asset classes being advantageous.
  • Understanding of the FIX protocol and its practical applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial markets and associated technologies.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and systematic thinking abilities.
  • Understanding of EMS systems and their components, with OMS experience considered a plus.
  • Ability to comprehend domain changes and their relevance to client systems.
  • Capability to operate at various levels, from operational tasks to strategic initiatives.

Preferred Skills:
  • Prior experience with light coding (Java) is advantageous.
