Position Overview
The Service Support Specialist at Mettler Toledo plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional assistance to our clients through the installation, evaluation, upkeep, and training of our advanced X-Ray systems. This position encompasses comprehensive management of all field service operations, which includes effective communication with clients, efficient travel planning, thorough documentation, and adherence to company protocols and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations for both Mettler Toledo and client locations.
- Participate in regular team meetings led by a Service Manager.
- Execute scheduled service visits as directed, balancing cost, time, and client expectations.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, establishing trust and reliability.
- Diagnose service issues to achieve first-time resolutions.
- Timely completion and submission of service reports, timesheets, and expense documentation.
- Evaluate equipment performance, suggest enhancements, and communicate ongoing issues.
- Engage in continuous technical training to stay updated.
- Be available for weekend and after-hours work as necessary.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory provided by the company.
- Participate in a remote technical support rotation.
- Adhere to the company’s core values and Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Preferred: Associate degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated professionalism and dedication to achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in task execution.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with adaptability to change.
- Self-motivated individual capable of initiating corrective actions independently.
- Exceptional time management skills with a focus on deadlines.

- Conflict resolution skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

- Proficient in using hand tools and digital testing equipment.
- Knowledgeable in mechanics, electronics, and distribution systems.
- Familiarity with conveyor systems and electrical distribution systems (AC and DC).
- Proficient in Windows Operating Systems and various software applications.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Fluency in English is required; Spanish is a plus.
The physical demands of this role include:
- Working around moving mechanical components in varying temperature and humidity conditions.
- Occasional exposure to damp environments.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Regular climbing of stairs and ladders.
- Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
- Capability to work in confined or dark spaces.
- Ability to travel extensively, including long-distance driving.
- Flexibility to work early mornings or late nights as required.
- Willingness to work overtime based on business needs.
- Frequent travel within the U.S. and occasional international travel is necessary.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
