Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Karner Blue Butterfly Conservation Specialist. As a key member of our conservation team, you will be responsible for monitoring butterfly populations, managing habitat quality, and providing outreach to visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and document butterfly populations, including spring and summer broods
  • Conduct habitat monitoring in all management areas, including spring and summer
  • Work with park staff and visitors to improve compliance with protective measures and promote conservation efforts
Requirements
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work outside in hot, sunny conditions
  • Preferred skills: GIS, GPS, field surveys, vegetation and insect identification
  • Preferred knowledge: entomology, natural resource management
  • Preferred training: public speaking, education/outreach
