Job Summary

This role supports the mission and vision of Mountain Springs Church by providing strategic leadership and oversight in the realm of global missions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a cohesive mission's strategy that aligns with the church's DNA.
  • Plan and coordinate short-term mission trips, leveraging partnerships and addressing needs.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with global missionary partners and organizations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for organizations and missionaries supported by the church, providing care, counsel, and communication.
  • Oversee the church's financial and intercessory support for global partners.
  • Coordinate training opportunities for members who feel led into the mission field.
  • Plan and coordinate mission projects and trips, including logistics and team leadership.
  • Prepare and support mission trip participants with pre-trip training, spiritual preparation, and debriefing post-trip.
  • Collaborate with other church departments to align and develop the impact of missions.
  • Educate the congregation on the importance of missions, creating awareness of current mission initiatives through various communication forms and media channels.
  • Lead informational and promotional efforts to engage the church in missions.
  • Develop the mission's department leadership base through nurturing potential leaders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with global organizations to procure their stated goals.
  • Evaluate and prioritize partnerships for effectiveness and alignment with MSC priorities.
  • Manage the mission's budget, ensuring faithful stewardship of all available resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in missions, outreach, or ministry leadership.
  • Developed and honed communication skills and interpersonal awareness.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to inspire and mobilize others.
  • Sensitive and skilled in dealing with differing behaviors, feelings, and values.
  • Appropriate awareness of privacy of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with a staff team.
  • Cultural sensitivity and a global perspective on missions.
  • A demonstrated interest in new technologies and approaches.
  • Recognizes own limits and embraces the expertise of other staff.
  • Strong competence on Apple computers and within Microsoft Office suite.
Working Conditions

Adequate transportation to complete job responsibilities in a timely manner. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking/sitting. Manual dexterity and mobility. Visual and auditory acuity. Ability to lift, push, pull 30 pounds. Exposed to a variety of electromechanical hazards. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.
