Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing interventions and treatment for individuals struggling with substance use disorders, both in individual and group settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized care aimed at assessing, diagnosing, and treating adults and their families, tailoring services to meet their unique needs. Facilitate intensive outpatient programs, structured group sessions, and aftercare services utilizing the agency's established Substance Abuse Program curriculum.
  • Maintain a minimum of 40 hours of work weekly, ensuring at least 30 hours are dedicated to direct client interactions, including necessary case management. Adhere to productivity standards and complete assigned tasks within established timelines.
  • Work autonomously while actively contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of treatment and prevention initiatives.
  • Produce comprehensive and timely clinical documentation for all services provided, ensuring that records reflect the client's engagement and response to treatment.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality services, adhering to best practice therapeutic approaches, and maintaining client records in compliance with agency policies and relevant regulations.
  • Engage in regular supervision and actively participate in team discussions, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Additional Duties:

  • Attend scheduled administrative and staff meetings, providing insights to enhance service delivery.
  • Facilitate communication across departments to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in committees and workgroups as needed, and provide training for interns and colleagues.
  • Uphold the agency's standards for service delivery and foster effective relationships with community partners.
  • Engage in fundraising activities and other related responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a Behavioral Health-related field is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or compliance with Behavioral Health Technician requirements.
  • Experience in facilitating substance abuse groups and working with individuals with substance use disorders is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Substance Abuse certification is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Regular access to reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.
