Role Responsibilities:

The Youth Behavioral Support Specialist is dedicated to offering direct assistance with a significant focus on behavior management for adolescents and their families within various environments, including homes, educational institutions, and community settings. This position is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative atmosphere and possesses the flexibility to adapt to varying schedules. The specialist will lead group sessions aimed at guiding adolescents towards independent living and engaging in constructive community activities. A solid foundation in behavior management and parent education is essential, along with the ability to work alongside teams that support families in alignment with established principles.

Key Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Preferred BHT level as per state regulations.
  • Experience with at-risk youth is advantageous.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.
  • Proficient understanding of behavior management strategies.
  • Capability to facilitate meetings and group discussions with families and adolescents.
  • Experience with children in care systems is preferred.
  • Background in assisting youth with life skills and transitioning to adulthood is beneficial.
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems and support families in crisis is crucial.
  • Experience with adolescent substance abuse is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines are required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
  • Fingerprint clearance card eligibility is necessary.
  • Bi-lingual candidates (Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
