Position Overview

Role Responsibilities:

The Youth Behavioral Support Specialist is dedicated to offering direct assistance with a primary focus on behavior management for adolescents and their families in various settings, including homes, educational institutions, and community environments. This role is ideal for individuals who are proactive, collaborative, and adaptable to flexible work schedules. Responsibilities include facilitating group sessions aimed at helping adolescents achieve independent living and engage in constructive community activities.

Key Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Preferred qualifications include BHT level as defined by AZDHS/BHS.
  • Experience with at-risk youth is highly valued.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a similar environment is required.
  • Familiarity with Behavior Management Techniques is essential.
  • Ability to lead meetings and group activities with families and adolescents.
  • Experience with children in DCS care and knowledge of the RBHA children system is preferred.
  • Experience in assisting teens with independent living skills and transitioning to adulthood is beneficial.
  • Capability to work effectively with multiple systems and families in crisis situations.
  • Experience in addressing teen substance abuse issues is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain timely documentation.
  • Must possess a Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one.
  • A valid Arizona driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.
  • Access to reliable transportation is required.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.

  • Foster positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • Compliance with training and attendance at meetings outside of regular work hours may be required.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management as necessary.
