Role Responsibilities:

The Behavioral Support Specialist is dedicated to offering direct assistance with a primary focus on behavior management for adolescents and their families, whether in their residences, educational institutions, or community settings. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and can adapt to a flexible work schedule. The specialist will lead groups aimed at helping adolescents achieve independent living and engage in constructive community activities. Candidates should possess a solid foundation in behavior management techniques and experience in parent education and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams involved in the Child and Family Team process, aligned with the Arizona Vision/12 principles. Adherence to deadlines, compliance with medical records, and performance standards are essential. Evening availability may be required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Preferred: BHT level as defined by AZDHS/BHS.
  • Experience with at-risk youth is advantageous.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.
  • Proficient in Behavior Management Techniques.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and group sessions with families and adolescents.
  • Experience with children in DCS care and familiarity with the RBHA children system is a plus.
  • Experience in supporting teens with independent living skills and transitioning to adulthood is preferred.
  • Capability to work with diverse systems and families in crisis is essential.
  • Experience in teen substance abuse is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain timely documentation.
  • Must possess a Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one.
  • A valid Arizona driver's license with no significant infractions in the past three years is required.
  • Access to reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.

  • If driving for agency purposes, a valid Arizona driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage are required.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and agency events outside of regular work hours as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
