About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team at Amergis. As a key member of our school-based services, you will play a vital role in facilitating educational and behavioral services for children and adults with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement behavior management techniques, including prevention, intervention, and consequence strategies, to support students in achieving their learning and behavioral goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support students in developing independent daily living skills, such as toileting, clothing routines, and personal hygiene.
  • Collaborate with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to develop and implement behavior intervention plans and review progress towards goals.
  • Assist in facilitating academic instruction and support students in developing skills across various environments, including the classroom, playground, and sensory room.
  • Document session data accurately and efficiently, adhering to confidentiality requirements and maintaining strict adherence to professional standards of practice.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; two years of pediatric experience preferred.
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice, including participation in Amergis' Competency program and completion of new hire training.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, supervisors, and colleagues, with strong English language proficiency and computer skills.
