Job Summary
As a key member of the El Monte City School District team, the Instructional Support Specialist plays a vital role in providing specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of students. This position requires a unique blend of teaching and support skills, with a focus on helping students overcome challenges and achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instructional support to students with special needs, including those with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and emotional disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
- Provide training and support to licensed vocational professionals, such as LVNs and PTAs, on topics related to instructional support and student needs.
- Coordinate special programs and services to support student learning and success.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- 48 college units or equivalent experience.
- Specialized training in instructional support and student needs.
- Two years of experience working in a classroom environment with students with special needs.
- LVN license, first aid card, and CPR certificate.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass the El Monte City School District Proficiency test.
- Must attach LVN License, first aid card, and CPR certificate to application.
- Online application and all required documents must be successfully scanned and submitted through the Edjoin system prior to the posted deadline.
Working Conditions
- Daily work schedule: 8-2:30 p.m.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
