The Bilingual Clinical Supervisor is tasked with:

  • Overseeing all therapeutic services within the program, managing the clinicians while maintaining a manageable caseload.
  • Delivering both individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Guiding clinicians in the development of Individual Crisis Management Plans, Behavioral Plans, and Safety Plans as necessary.
  • Conducting thorough assessments utilizing standardized measures in accordance with guidelines established by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
  • Providing crisis intervention and ongoing therapeutic support.
  • Maintaining consistent communication and coordination of services with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participating in treatment team meetings and other relevant discussions regarding the youth on their caseload.
  • Ensuring timely completion of documentation, ensuring clinical records adhere to ORR standards and preparing for audits.
  • Upholding confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ensuring that Serious Incident Reports (SIR) are comprehensive and submitted promptly according to ORR standards.
  • Exhibiting professionalism and courtesy at all times.
  • Demonstrating teamwork by fulfilling expected roles and fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues.
  • Showing commitment to departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Assuming additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency (Fluent in Spanish and English) is required.
  • Master's degree in social work with a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate direct service experience OR;
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Psychology, Sociology, or another relevant behavioral science with clinical experience, along with 2 years of post-graduate direct service experience OR;
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of clinical experience in the behavioral sciences.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience and licensure to provide clinical services in New York State.
  • Preferred experience working with traumatized or exploited children, as well as children with behavioral challenges.
  • LCSW credential is preferred.

Role Summary:

As a Lead Clinician, you will coordinate clinical services, provide ongoing individual and group counseling, screen for human trafficking concerns, and offer crisis intervention while training and supervising clinical staff.

The Unaccompanied Children Program delivers long-term and transitional residential care along with supportive services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) under the legal custody of the Federal Government. Collaborating with the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), our program ensures a safe and nurturing environment for youth in various care settings, providing therapeutic and educational services tailored to help them succeed through targeted interventions and family reunification efforts.
