Job Overview

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is actively seeking a Per Diem On Call Case Manager for our Mobile Response and Stabilization Services Program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work or a related discipline
  • Possession of a valid driver's license

Responsibilities and Skills

  • Serve as the second member of a two-person team responding to after-hours dispatches
  • Assist the primary on-call staff member in providing support
  • Deliver crisis de-escalation and intervention services, along with safety planning for families and children facing escalating behavioral or emotional challenges.

The duration of service can range from a minimum of 72 hours to a maximum of 8 weeks, with all interventions tailored to the unique needs of each family. The On Call Case Manager is not responsible for coordinating services after the initial response, as their role concludes once the family is stabilized. Calls are managed through a centralized screening process that assesses the need for services. Upon receiving a call, the Mobile Response Worker and the On Call Case Manager must respond within one hour, adhering to contractual obligations. Our program operates 24/7, ensuring timely assistance.

  • The Mobile Response program provides essential counseling, guidance, and referral services to families dealing with juvenile crises, aiming to stabilize and preserve family units. It addresses various juvenile behavioral issues, including truancy, chronic runaways, family conflicts, and curfew violations. Services are available around the clock to assist children and youth in emotional or behavioral crises, focusing on immediate crisis resolution and safety.
