Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is in search of dedicated Full-Time Case Worker Aides for our Mobile Response and Stabilization Services Program.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a field related to Social Work
- Possession of a valid Driver's license
Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in English and Spanish, are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home and community-based crisis de-escalation and intervention services.
- Deliver stabilization and case management support to families and children facing escalating behavioral or emotional challenges.
- Engage in service provision that lasts from a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours up to eight (8) weeks, tailored to individual family needs.
- Assist Case Workers or Clinicians during discharge or transition phases, ensuring appropriate referrals and linkages to necessary services.
- Respond to calls received through a centralized screening entity, assessing the need for services.
- Ensure timely response to calls within one hour, acting as a secondary responder.
- Deliver services around the clock, every day of the year, within one hour of receiving referrals.
Required Skills:
- Comprehension of youth developmental needs and the specific requirements of the population served, including crisis de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques.
- Strong communication, organizational, and self-management abilities.
- Capability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments and manage crisis situations with professionalism.
- Ability to collaborate with referral sources, community partners, and both formal and informal support systems in the lives of children and families.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all settings, whether in the office or in the field.
- Proficiency in conducting community interventions within a one-hour travel radius and managing high-stress scenarios effectively.
- Skill in identifying, planning for, and responding to potentially unsafe situations with sound judgment.
About the Program:
- The Mobile Response program, based in Jersey City, New Jersey, provides essential counseling, guidance, and referral services aimed at addressing juvenile crises and stabilizing family units. This program tackles behavioral issues such as truancy, chronic runaways, family conflicts, and curfew violations. Services are available 24/7 to assist children and youth experiencing emotional or behavioral crises, focusing on immediate crisis defusion and maintaining family safety.
