Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Agricultural Equipment Sales Professional to join our team at Service Motor Company, Inc. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for selling new and used agricultural equipment to business and consumer customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers to discuss products and solicit orders.
  • Meet and/or exceed sales goals by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Travel to customers' properties or other agreed-upon locations to meet with customers in person.
  • Discover customers' needs and recommend product solutions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about products, services, and prices.
  • Estimate prices and prepare written sales quotes.
  • Submit sales orders to corporate sales staff for final review and to be ordered from the manufacturer.
  • Negotiate prices and services with customers.
  • Provide customers with product brochures and literature.
  • Obtain customers' information for credit applications.
  • Coordinate and schedule product demonstrations at the dealership or customers' properties.
  • Arrange and coordinate scheduling of product deliveries and transfers.
  • Attend delivery of customer equipment purchases.
  • Train customers and/or their employees on equipment functions and operation.
  • Contact customers before and after the sale to resolve problems, provide ongoing support, build and maintain relationships, and develop new sales leads.
  • Identify prospective customers by reviewing customer lists, property maps, participating in relevant organizations, and attending trade shows and industry events.
  • Monitor market conditions, commodity prices, and competitors' products, pricing, and promotions.
  • Complete related paperwork, including sales quotes, sales orders, credit applications, expense reports, and vehicle fuel and mileage reports.
  • Record sales activity, including customer calls and tentative deals.
  • Provide input in the development of personal sales goals.
  • Greet all customers at the dealership and offer assistance or direct them to the correct department or person.
  • Attend related sales and product training sessions and meetings.
  • Mentor and train newly hired sales representatives as needed.
  • Assist with general dealership operations as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Associates degree or 2-year technical degree in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
