Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As the Application Security Lead, you will spearhead the application security initiative, providing strategic guidance to the security team. Your role will involve shaping best practices for application security across the organization, addressing intricate security challenges, and engaging in technical discussions with software developers to clarify complex security inquiries and gather new security requirements. You will mentor engineering teams and security advocates to enhance the overall security posture of Samsung Electronics Perú's products.

In collaboration with the Director of Security Engineering, you will cultivate a proactive partnership with the headquarters security team, ensuring alignment of requirements and balancing technical innovation with industry-leading security standards.

This position also offers the chance to significantly contribute to the Application and Data Protection program, leading cloud security initiatives focused on application and data monitoring, reporting, and auditing controls. Your involvement will be crucial in proactively securing Samsung Ads products throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with product and software development teams to model potential threats, identify vulnerabilities, establish necessary control points within the application stack, and conduct penetration testing on early software, systems, and network architectures.

You will collaborate with highly skilled and passionate developers who possess a robust technical background, tackling unique technical challenges to deliver exceptional products and services.

Essential Duties

  1. Conduct application security assessments, detailing requirements, verifying remediation efforts, threat modeling, and data migration.
  2. Support engineering teams in developing security-first software and infrastructure.
  3. Execute threat analyses and security audits on software and infrastructure.
  4. Establish hardening configuration standards.
  5. Set up web application firewall policies to safeguard public web systems.
  6. Contribute to defining and enforcing security standards for Cloud Native applications, firewalls, AWS configurations, and more.
  7. Engage in security evaluations of service architectures and serve as a Subject Matter Expert for engineering teams.
  8. Create a platform to assist engineering and corporate teams in understanding their vulnerabilities and risks, supporting their remediation efforts.
  9. Develop policies and documentation for security best practices for emerging technologies and generate metrics and reports on the cloud security posture of our systems.
  10. Investigate new technologies and methodologies related to application security and assess how Samsung Electronics Perú can integrate them.

Qualifications

  1. Exceptional analytical and communication abilities.
  2. Self-motivated with the capability to inspire team members.
  3. Proficient in breaking down larger tasks into manageable segments, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring completion without micromanagement.
  4. Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and passionate about application security.
  5. Expertise in OWASP Web Top 10 and threat modeling using established frameworks such as STRIDE.
  6. Strong programming skills in at least one language and solid knowledge of AWS, Linux, and SIEM.
  7. Familiarity with penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, or ZAP.
  8. Experience with static and dynamic application security testing tools.
  9. Background in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination, and analysis.
  10. Proven ability to implement complex security controls and configurations for cloud-based software and networks.
  11. Experience in threat modeling and penetration testing.
  12. Familiarity with DevOps models/pipelines in relation to security integration.
  13. Experience with SAST and DAST.
  14. Strong understanding of security risk management principles.
  15. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  16. Excellent proficiency in English is essential.
  17. Fluency in Korean is an advantage.
