In the role of Chief Security Architect, you will be responsible for developing NewsBreak's security framework and ensuring it aligns with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement the overarching security engineering strategy in line with the organization's objectives.
  • Supervise the design and execution of security architectures encompassing networks, systems, and applications.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of security infrastructure and policies.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant security standards, regulations, and industry best practices (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate security risks within the organization's technological landscape.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure security strategies align with business goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in security engineering or a similar capacity, with a minimum of 4 years in a technical leadership or architectural role.
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring information security operations.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary cloud architecture, including AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with information security management frameworks such as ISO 27001, CIS 20, or NIST, SOC2.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of key data protection regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners, including R&D, Legal, and Trust and Safety.
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive attitude; strong sense of ownership.
  • A passion for the startup environment is advantageous.

The base salary range for this full-time position is provided below. Compensation may vary based on various factors, including job-related skills, experience, geographic location, and relevant education or training.
