Child Transport Specialist

Supervisor: Director of ILC Operations
Salary Range: $16.00
Employment Status: Non-Exempt – Part-Time/Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; Split Shift based on the needs of the Children's Center. Occasional evening or weekend shifts may be required.

PRIMARY ROLE: Assist the driver in the safe transportation of children to and from the YWCA Children's Center using a mini bus.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physically capable of fulfilling all responsibilities associated with mini bus operations.
- Ability to comply with Bureau of Regulatory Services licensing standards.
- Current certifications in CPR, first aid, and blood-borne pathogens (provided by the organization).
- Successful completion of criminal and child abuse history checks.
- Proven ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills with children, parents, and YWCA staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate the mini bus.
- Promptly report any malfunctions or issues with the mini bus to the Director of ILC Operations.
- Interact effectively with children of various ages and YWCA Child Care providers during transport.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information acquired through the role.
- Adhere to the organization's driving policies.
- Comply with all relevant local, state, and federal licensing requirements and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with program participants, YWCA staff, and volunteers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness and service the mini bus, including interior cleaning, exterior washing, and replenishing fuel and fluids as necessary.

- Physical activities include sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit
- Continually required to use hand and finger dexterity
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl
- Frequently required to communicate verbally or listen
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather related)
- Regularly working near moving mechanical parts
- Occasional work in elevated or precarious locations
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or hazardous chemicals
- Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (non-weather related)
- Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
- Noise levels in the work environment may vary from quiet to loud
- Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Orientation to YWCA Personnel Policies, Mission, Purpose, and One Imperative.
- Racial Justice Training.
- Orientation to Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Confidentiality, and Mandatory Reporting.
- Additional relevant training and in-service opportunities will be provided during employment.
