Position Overview

Under the direct oversight of the Assistant General Manager of Business Administration, the Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in shaping and executing the organization’s financial objectives and strategies. This includes budget management, accounting practices, procurement processes, and payroll operations, all while adhering to applicable State and Federal regulations, as well as ASM Global's internal policies.


Key Responsibilities

The following duties are essential to the role, with additional tasks assigned as necessary:

  • Support the formulation and execution of the organization’s financial goals and priorities, ensuring alignment with ASM Global's standards.
  • Examine contracts related to clients, events, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive financial reporting for the Client Utilities department, which encompasses:
    • Generating financial analyses and reports, including monthly statements and annual budgets for events and departments in a timely manner.
    • Acquiring insights into union labor, labor calls, cost analysis, and revenue estimates to effectively evaluate business requirements and workflows.
    • Assessing financial performance against budgets and forecasts, utilizing cost analyses and financial modeling to recommend necessary adjustments to achieve business objectives.
    • Creating a robust data analysis database to accurately evaluate business needs and establish historical trends for forecasting.
  • Direct the implementation and upkeep of new accounting, timekeeping, analysis, and reporting systems as required.
  • Review financial statements in collaboration with management personnel.
  • Work alongside the Controller and Assistant General Manager to establish standard internal controls and process improvement initiatives within the Client Utilities department.
  • Assist the Controller with materials for external audits and financial reporting.
  • Partner with the Client Utilities Manager to enhance understanding of revenue and expenses, facilitating better management of the business and department.
  • Provide executives with analytical tools and decision-support resources to enable informed business decisions.
  • Assist executives in developing metrics, scorecards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Document standard operating procedures within the Client Utilities department.
  • Support the finance department with additional responsibilities as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory duties.


Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience in public accounting, financial management, cost accounting, or finance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general and cost accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills, with exceptional numerical proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills.

Certifications

CPA, MBA, or CMA certification is highly preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and engage with all levels of staff, including management.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by events.
  • Strong motivation and a professional demeanor.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements for this position include the ability to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. The role may involve both indoor and outdoor work, with the expectation of walking or standing for extended periods.


Work Hours and Travel

This position may require irregular hours based on event schedules, and travel may be necessary.
