Position Overview

We are in search of a seasoned Accounting Manager for our organization within the Real Estate/Property sector.

This is a permanent role where the successful candidate will oversee the financial operations of a portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring precise financial reporting and executing effective financial strategies.

This position demands a high level of expertise in forecasting, cash flow management, cost accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and account reconciliation.

The ideal candidate will also be expected to possess proficiency in Quickbooks, Yardi, a strong understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, general ledger management, and the preparation of financial statements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable and receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, and capital assets reconciliations.
  • Establish and enforce appropriate accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits.
  • Conduct monthly financial analysis for each property in the portfolio.
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial property reports.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives.
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
  • Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting systems and policies for new properties.
  • Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the real estate sector.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles as well as GAAP guidelines.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, QuickBooks, Yardi, and financial management software.
  • In-depth knowledge of cash flow management, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping.
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to direct and supervise.
