Position Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant General Manager of Business Administration, the Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in shaping and executing the company's financial strategies, ensuring compliance with both State and Federal regulations, as well as adhering to ASM Global's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
The following are the primary responsibilities associated with this role, though additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:

  • Support the formulation and execution of organizational objectives concerning financial management, budgeting, accounting, and procurement, in alignment with ASM Global's standards.
  • Examine contracts related to clients, events, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive financial reporting for the Client Utilities department, which includes:
    • Preparing financial analyses and reports, such as monthly statements and annual budgets for events and departments in a timely manner.
    • Acquiring knowledge on union labor, labor calls, cost analysis, and revenue estimates to effectively assess business requirements and workflows.
    • Evaluating financial performance against budgets and forecasts, conducting cost analyses, and utilizing financial modeling to suggest necessary actions or adjustments to achieve business objectives.
    • Creating a reliable data analysis database to accurately assess business needs and establish historical trends for forecasting.
    • Directing the implementation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, analysis, and reporting processes as required.
    • Reviewing financial statements with management personnel.
    • Collaborating with the Controller and Assistant General Manager to implement standard internal controls and process improvement initiatives within the Client Utilities department.
    • Assisting the Controller with materials for external audits and financial reporting.
    • Working with the Client Utilities Manager to enhance understanding of revenue and expenses for better business and departmental management.
    • Providing executives with analytical tools and decision-support resources to facilitate informed business decisions.
    • Assisting executives in developing metrics, scorecards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Documenting standard operating procedures within the Client Utilities department.
    • Supporting the finance department with additional tasks as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience in public accounting, financial management, cost accounting, or finance.

Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting principles.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and reasoning skills, complemented by superior numerical proficiency.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities.
  • The ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.

Computer Skills
Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing applications is essential, along with advanced financial modeling skills.

Certifications
CPA, MBA, or CMA certification is strongly preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities
The candidate should demonstrate:

  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and interact effectively with all staff levels, including management.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours as required by events and functions.
  • Strong motivation and a professional demeanor.

Physical Demands
The physical requirements for this position include the ability to navigate both indoor and outdoor environments as necessary. The employee may be required to walk or stand for extended periods, up to 8-10 hours daily. Additionally, the role necessitates sitting for prolonged periods while handling files, typing, and operating office equipment.

Work Hours and Travel Requirements
This position may require irregular hours based on event schedules, and travel may be necessary.
