Job Summary

Rempert Inc is seeking a highly skilled Asbestos Inspector/Project Monitor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and investigations of asbestos abatement projects to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial inspections of abatement projects to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Perform follow-up inspections to verify that all friable asbestos has been removed and that the project is in compliance with regulations
  • Inspect and test equipment and machinery to ensure they are functioning properly and do not pose a risk to employees or the public
  • Collect and analyze samples of bulk and dust to assess potential asbestos hazards
  • Prepare and review reports regarding consultations, inspections, and project documentation
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of asbestos operations and consult with private and public entities regarding maintenance, repair, and handling of asbestos-containing materials
Requirements
  • Current possession of a valid New England asbestos inspector license
  • Ability to detect hazardous situations and recommend corrective action
  • Knowledge of rules for the abatement of friable asbestos, state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to asbestos removal, industrial safety and hygiene practices, and report writing techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to perform strenuous physical activities
  • Willingness to work hours other than on regular shifts during emergency or high volume situations and to perform all job-related travel
Working Conditions

The employee will be frequently required to stand, walk, and reach, and will routinely be required to sit, manipulate objects, and climb ladders. The employee may be exposed to minimal noise, chemical exposure, and work environments where chemicals are present.
