Job Overview

ATCS PLC is seeking a skilled Transportation Construction Inspector to join our team in Virginia. As a key member of our Construction Services group, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of transportation construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of transportation construction projects to ensure compliance with VDOT specifications and standards.
  • Verify that contractors are adhering to safe construction practices and producing quality results.
  • Perform field tests on materials, including concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA.
  • Document materials, labor compliance, safety, and processing estimates, work orders, and adjustments.
  • Report on-site activities and daily progress to the Project Engineer via standardized reporting.

Requirements:

  • Varying levels of contractor or inspection experience in roadway construction with VDOT desired.
  • Knowledgeable in VDOT Road and Bridges specifications and standards.
  • OSHA safety requirements on road and bridge construction sites.
  • Knowledge of mathematics to include algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Skill in the use of field engineering and testing equipment, inspection methods, and materials.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain required certifications within 12 months of employment and maintain.
  • Valid Drivers' License.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SiteManager, PlanGrid, and other project management software.

ATCS PLC offers a competitive salary range of $17.00 to $41.93 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
