Quality Control Manager

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality of construction projects at Doyon Management Services. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising the implementation of quality control and quality assurance programs. The Quality Control Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and Corporate Management to verify adherence to quality standards and ensure compliance with contracts and established standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage the Quality Control Plan for assigned construction projects
- Read and understand complex contract specifications, documents, and drawings
- Interpret technical instructions and deal with various abstract and concrete variables
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Review and approve submittals, process, and understand RFI's
- Prepare a Daily Activity Report to record daily activities
- Work with a team to ensure contract requirements, project goals, and objectives are met
- Communicate with client's quality assurance personnel and technical experts
- Make presentations, host meetings, and engage in problem-solving
- Implement the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Three Phase Quality Control Process
- Mentor Quality Control Specialists
- Continuing education in related fields
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of construction quality control experience
- Experience working on construction projects with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and/or the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC)
- Demonstrated track record and references as a certified QC Specialist/Manager on federal construction projects
- Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification or ability to obtain/renew
- Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong proficiency in USACE Quality Control System (QCS) and/or Resident Management System (RMS)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Working Environment:
The Quality Control Manager will work in both indoor and outdoor settings, interacting with individuals of diverse functions, personalities, and abilities. The position requires physical demands, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and repeat motions.
