Job Title: Water/Wastewater Mechanical Treatment Plant Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Water/Wastewater Mechanical Treatment Plant Inspector to join our team at Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the oversight and inspection of mechanical systems at water and wastewater treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect mechanical installations and construction work related to water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Monitor contractor activities and progress to ensure adherence to project schedules.
  • Perform quality control inspections on pumps, piping, valves, motors, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components.
  • Document field activities and prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Identify and report non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve field issues.
  • Verify system functionality and assist in startup and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed on-site.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related field desired.
  • 10+ years of experience inspecting mechanical systems in water/wastewater treatment facilities or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, piping, and valves.
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment plant processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites within Tidewater, VA.
