Job Title: Educational Success Worker

Tides Family Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support and resources to children, adolescents, and families facing various challenges. Our mission is to empower youth to thrive in a community-based setting.

Job Summary:

The Educational Success Worker is a vital member of the Tides Outreach Program (TOP) team, specializing in providing support to students experiencing school/truancy issues. This role serves as the primary liaison between assigned schools, Tides, and families, ensuring students have access to transportation and healthy morning routines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and address barriers to educational, health, and social wellness in the designated community.
  • Support case management and care coordination activities to promote student success.
  • Cultivate relationships with community partners to secure resources for clients, enhancing attendance and academic attainment.
  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with schools to facilitate attendance, behavior, and performance monitoring.
  • Provide transportation assistance to school as needed.
  • Support the on-call rotation and out-of-school time programming as required.
  • Act as a family advocate, facilitating informed decisions regarding educational, medical, and basic needs.
  • Offer vocational support and transition planning to promote youth development.
  • Develop effective working relationships and participate in group supervisions to collaborate and problem-solve with team members.
  • Maintain accurate and accessible case notes, reports, files, and statistics as required.
  • Contribute to the completion of strengths-based Recovery Plans by offering input on recovery goals aligned with the youth's academic achievement.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and registered/insured vehicle required.
  • Bilingual: Spanish, Portuguese, Creole preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in community outreach and engagement settings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in building relationships with internal teams, stakeholders, clients, families, schools, law enforcement, and community resources.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook/Gmail.
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and handle multiple projects to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal, written, and telephone skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Flexibility to work between in-person and virtual meetings/worksites.
Salary:

$44,500-$48,000
