Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dairy Business Development Manager to join our team at Alta Genetics. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our genetics, related products, and services to dairy farmers and producers in the Indiana and Ohio market.

Your primary focus will be on building relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering value-added genetic solutions and programs. You will also be responsible for managing inventory, invoicing, and working with support staff to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer service.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of dairy management software programs and genetic knowledge. Considerable travel is required, and you will be expected to work closely with our global teams to drive herd profitability and build long-term partnerships with leading dairy and beef producers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and sell Alta's genetics, related products, and services
  • Provide excellent customer service and support
  • Evaluate and assess customer accounts and product offerings for continuous improvement
  • Increase Alta's market share through existing customer base and core business of large herds
  • Prospect, develop, and manage new business
  • Promote Alta products and services at local and regional dairy events
  • Review monthly sales reports
  • Manage expenses, inventory, and accounts receivable
Requirements
  • 2+ years consultative sales experience required
  • Previous experience in the dairy/beef industry is highly beneficial
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills
  • Self-starter, results-oriented, and driven by developing win-win solutions
  • In-depth genetic knowledge and familiarity with dairy management software programs are considered assets
